Hello, buyer beware!Read the complaints before you buy anything from this company.

Pushy, cheeky staff who often know nothing about art - on this cruise three of the team of five had absolutely no formal education in art. An art director, seems to set high prices and then (mis)sells to vulnerable buyers who are often lacking in knowledge,, all seems commission based. No guarantee any of the art sold will be what you think you are buying. Read all of the other complaints on this company and walk away.

This company should be removed from selling on the cruise ships. Their only interest in clients is in selling, they do not ask anything about the client to explore their art collection or needs /wants. I would describe them as second rate to very very poor.

Listen to the art talks, but avoid buying anything until you look on line for the artwork, and if you really like it, buy for much less from a more reputable company.Hope this helps others.

Park West Gallery at Sea charges are not acceptable based on a long list of practices common at "art auctions" on cruise ships:

--Violations of the Uniform Commercial Code

--Absence of Detailed Auction Catalogs

--Absence of Disclosure of Detailed Sales Terms and Conditions

--The art work offered for sale at auction is not consigned but wholly owned by the merchant, Park West Gallery --Alcohol Consumption is Encouraged --Merchandise Auctioned is Not Located Aboard Ship, No Opportunity to Inspect --Questionable licensing of independent contractor auctioneers --Certificates of authenticity and appraisals are prepared and signed by an agent of Park West Gallery for an additional fee.Since PWG has a pecuniary interest in all of the work it owns, it is in PWG's interest to inflate appraisals.

--High-Pressure Sales Techniques both during and after the "auction".

Buyers are given inaccurate information about the contract and are pressured at post-sale meetings to upgrade and purchase more items.--Prospective Buyers are Designated to Art Inventory prior to "auction" by sales staff and pressured to bid.
